From the history of Orenburg region
Жанр:
Историческая литература
The book discusses the linguistic community that existed in the Southern Urals and later became known as the Indo-Europeans. The community began to disintegrate in the 4th-3rd millennium BC and split into different language groups, such as the Eastern, Western European, Slavic, and Balts. Throughout history, peoples disappeared, appeared, and assimilated with other ethnic groups. Traces of the ancient community can be seen in the common words and concepts found in Slavic and Iranian languages, as well as in the similarities in applied art. The domestic cult of moose and deer was preserved in the areas of Indo-European settlement, despite these animals not being found in certain regions. The book also explores the similarities in religious cults among Indo-European peoples, such as the similarities between the Slavic god Perun and gods from other cultures like the Latvian-Lithuanian Perkunis and the Indian Parjanya. The concept of "civilization" is discussed, highlighting the emergence of new and progressive elements that drive development. The book ends by mentioning the traces of the most ancient civilization.
