Once upon a time there lived a king named Sun, with his Queen who was called Luna. They had a beautiful daughter named Venus. When Venus was 16 years old, her father decided to marry her off.


Жили-были царь Солнце и царица Луна, и была у них дочка, красавица Венера. Вот когда Венере исполнилось 16 лет, надумал отец выдать ее замуж.


Venus did not want to get married because she never was in love. She had never met meet a kind person. Her mother Luna also thought that her daughter was not ready to leave her home. But they had to submit to the royal will.


Венера не хотела выходить замуж, потому что она еще не встретила того человека, которому была бы готова отдать свое сердце. Да и матушка Луна считала, что дочери еще слишком рано покидать родной дом. Но им пришлось подчиниться царской воле.


Desiring to boast of his untold riches, the King Sun paraded all his gold reserves. The entire palace sparkled and shimmered with a golden glow, which reflected in the mirrors hung everywhere. He tried his best not to lose face in front of his neighbors. Therefore, he decided to arrange a magnificent celebration in the palace and invited all the enviable suitors in their kingdom-state to the upcoming ball.


Желая похвастаться своими несметными богатствами, царь Солнце выставил напоказ все свои золотые запасы. Весь дворец сверкал и переливался золотым сиянием, которое отражалось в развешанных повсюду зеркалах. Он изо всех сил старался не ударить в грязь лицом перед соседями. Поэтому решил устроить во дворце пышное торжество и пригласить на предстоящий бал всех самых завидных женихов в их царстве-государстве.


Venus was allowed to spend as much money on outfits as she wished. It must be admitted that she had excellent taste, and besides, she wanted to somehow get away from sad thoughts, so she plunged headlong into shopping.


Венере разрешили тратить на наряды столько денег, сколько она пожелает. Надо признаться, что она имела отменный вкус, и к тому же ей хотелось хоть как-то отвлечься от грустных мыслей, поэтому она с головой погрузилась в покупки.
